Landed in El Paso. Almost to Los Angeles. 13 high school students serving an inner city mission. Our privilege. Every year our high school moves for 1 week into precious lives in 13 countries and 6 stateside and 5 local ministries. I’ve met people I will carry in my heart forever like @davidinhaiti and Jean-yves Guervil. Friends I will pray for all my days. 2 Thes 1:11. “The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet.” F. Los Angeles*Night Before GoWeek Chapel
58,000 precious people live homeless in Los Angeles. It’s one of the nation’s largest homeless populations. And Joshua Expeditions is doing something about that. Offering hope. The homeless population has surged in these past few years and it is daunting how many live on the streets— with kids wandering with no place to stay in America. No bed to lay their head.
Thirteen HP students have the privilege to serve these marginalized folks in LA through various projects like: feeding the homeless, repairing homes, and children’s ministry. We go to offer hope from the God of all hope. And I believe we will be deeply touched by these people who have fallen on some hard times. May we offer much joy as we collide with some of our country’s great need.
“May the God of Hope fill all of us with joy and peace as we trust in Him, so that we may overflow with hope in our new friends’ lives—by His Power. Romans 15:13
